This is a full-time position, starting pay range is $115,000-$150,000 based on experience.
Summary Responsible for maintaining Slakey's customer service standards, inventory accuracy, and the accuracy of all customer and branch transactions.
Assists in the identification and evaluation of areas for operational improvement within the Distribution Center and strives to maximize efficiency and service within the branch and distribution center.
Leads the effort within the Distribution Center operation in cost management, implementation of best practices and operational process improvements.
Responsible for managing the day-to-day warehousing functions, receiving, and put away of products, pulling of customer orders, and delivery activities from the Distribution Center.
Performs a full range of management responsibilities including effectively delegating work, coaching/mentoring the Team Members to achieve desired results and developing meaningful metrics upon which to hold the Team Members accountable for accomplishing.
Defines and then ensures that all members of his/her team provide Slakey's level of desired customer service for external and internal customers.
Constantly promotes and encourages a safe and positive work environment for Team Members.
Establishes dialogue with branch operational personnel and regularly visits the branches and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
Skills and Qualifications 4-year college degree preferred or willingness to make progress toward a bachelor's degree 5
years of exempt level management experience Education and experience in industrial distribution preferred Excellent understanding of delivery system from a distribution center to multiple locations Experience in managing and motivating a team of people to excellent results.
Demonstrated understanding of distribution processes, excellent customer service standards and general warehousing principles Ability to implement continuous improvement activities while maintaining an efficient flow of the existing daily work.
Customer service-oriented approach responds to requests with a sense of urgency.
Strong written and verbal communication skills Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Able to organize people and promote teamwork.
Works well across all levels of the organization.
Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize and follow through.
Attention to detail, tolerant of multiple priorities, and possesses good organizational skills.
Able to establish priorities and make appropriate decisions.
